Executive Development Center (EDC)

The Institute has its Executive Development Center (EDC) for imparting higher education to the employed workforce. In congruence to the market demand EDC offers its services for focused Training and development of professional executives.

EDC compliments DIHE’s degree courses such as marketing, finance, accounting, operations, IT, human resources and strategy, by offering courses and workshops on topics such as Leadership Diploma (collaboration with The Institute for Leadership and Global Education ILGE); effective strategic planning, leadership and entrepreneurship methodology (Entrepreneurship Operating System™); Six Sigma; Project Management; and other programs that enable the participants to gain and refresh their knowledge and to become effective organizational leaders.

EDC, in consultation with the faculty, designs course material relevant and the organizational needs. Industry and business leaders are also invited as speakers during programs, to give insight on a topic relevant to the programme.

These programs are highly dynamic and interactive. Multiple training methodologies are used to enhance the learning experience such as use of case studies, role play exercises, and discussions.
Location

EDC is a contemporary, fully equipped learning center built adjacent to historic Hill Park on Main Shaheed-e-Millat Road. The facility is well maintained and the staff is friendly and hospitable.

Programmes:

The programmes of the DIHE-EDC focus on different levels of management and address strategic and technological issues vital to conducting business in this century.

Based on analysis of core competencies required to build the business in support of our client’s strategy, Client Specific Courses and Programs are also designed / held at the Center for which the organization is required to guarantee at least 10 participants.

Consultancy Services:

DIHE-EDC offers special consultancy services performed on-site that evaluates organization, management processes, human resources & organizational development and support systems of our client organization. The assignment concludes with an on-site presentation of key findings. This is followed by a full written report. This is a team based activity having a team leader and members with relevant expertise and experience
Director

Shahbaz Ali Baig who is the new Director of EDC has a diverse background as an entrepreneur, banker, human resources, IT and corporate trainer. He completed his MBA from University of Wisconsin and did his BBA from the same University in MIS and Marketing. He is one of the most recognized trainers of Six Sigma and is the only licensed implementer of Entrepreneurship Operating System which is an effective methodology for leadership. Shahbaz has worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Citibank, General Electric and ServiceMaster in management positions and was also head of Quality Assurance Department at HBL. Shahbaz has conducted successful workshops and seminars on various leadership, quality and other management topics both in USA and Pakistan. Over a 5000 people in over 50 companies have attended one or more of Shahbaz’s workshops. He was an adjunct faculty at CBM, Karachi and Carroll College, USA. Along with developing a strategy and Vision for EDC, Shahbaz will also be conducting workshops and programs for EDC and will be a visiting faculty at DIHE.

Trainers and Facilitators:

The DIHE-EDC Faculty consists of trainers with high academic achievements as well as successful, practical business management experiences. The faculty members are well regarded for their insight and command over current issues facing the business and industry. Our EDC faculties also have vast experience working abroad and bring with them best practices from USA, Europe and Asia.

  • Executive Training Room - Contemporary room with black leather seating for 30 delegates with full audiovisual facilities
  • Executive Board Room with seating for 12 delegates and a large round conference table
  • Grand Hall – Large auditorium with capacity up to 100 delegates equipped with multi-media. A separate serving area to serve tea and coffee to the program participants
  • Mobile Office including computing facilities, word processing, fax, photocopying and printing
  • Wi-fi is available throughout the facility
